Dog Breed Information
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi
The Corgi loves being a member of the family and are
generally good with children. They get along well with other
dogs...especially if socialized early. This breed is perfect for
an owner who likes big dogs but just doesn't have the room
(Corgi's are big dogs in small bodies!). Corgi's fare best
with active owners who enjoy walking, training and playing.
This breed is very intelligent and easily trained. He is a
working dog and prey driven. An owner who is firm but kind
will have his Corgi herding and rounding up the neighbor
children in no time!

Country of Origin: Wales
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi was developed in Pembrokeshire, Wales,
as an all-purpose farm dog that herded cattle and drove geese. They are
long, solidly built dogs with short legs. They are 10 to 12 inches in height,
weigh 25 to 30 pounds and live approximately 11 to 14 years. The Corgi
is an outgoing, alert, and friendly dog. They are hardy, playful and very
energetic! The Corgi comes in several colors including...red, sable, fawn
(with or without white markings) and tri-color. They have an easy care coat
which requires a once a week brushing (more if it is shedding season!).
