The Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular companion dogs in the United States. They are very intelligent dogs often used as rescue workers, detectives and service animals. They are hunting companions as well.

The Labrador is medium to large in size and quite muscular. They have broad heads, a black or brown nose, and short, triangular drop ears. Most Labs are 21 to 24 inches in height and weigh 55 to 85 pounds. Labradors come in several colors including: yellow, black, brown or chocolate.
