Rescued Pit Bull Olive

Danielle first saw Olive’s picture on Craigslist. When she saw
the photo, she cried. When I first saw the photo, I cried too.
How anyone could starve and neglect a dog until it was near
death is beyond my comprehension.

Olive was seized from her owner because of abuse and neglect.
She was held at the LA County Shelter (better known as, The
Pound) for two months as evidence. To this day, no charges
have ever been filed. One look at Olive’s “before” photo and it is
easy to see that she never received the justice she so
deserves.

Though she wasn’t abused at the shelter, her life there wasn’t much better than it had been before.
Olive had little to no human contact, and lived on a cold, hard cement floor inside a kennel...
twenty-four hours a day. She was filthy, had scars all over her face and neck and her ears were in poor
shape.

When Danielle met Olive she sat down on the floor in front of her not knowing what to expect. Olive
approached and to Danielle’s surprise, sat down on her lap! Danielle, knowing she had to help,
immediately filled out an application. She was the only person interested in poor, sweet, Olive.
Before she left, Danielle looked into Olive’s eyes and said “Bye, baby, I will see you tomorrow. Your
new life will begin tomorrow and no one will ever abuse you again!”

Danielle volunteers with a dog rescue group in California and has since found a forever loving home
for Olive. Olive is thriving and is slowly learning to trust humans. Danielle wants people to know that
when they purchase a dog....beautiful shelter animals DIE.

We at Bunny Roo Beagle salute Danielle for all of the work she does
with homeless dogs. She helped a dog that truly deserved a second
