Stephen Huneck Artist, Author, Sculptor |
Besides being a painter, Mr. Huneck is also an author and a sculptor. He has written several children's books all of which were inspired by his dog, Sally. I don't know about you, but my Beagle and I are about to take a road-trip to Dog Mountain. It's about time we went to church and confessed our sins and I can't think of a better place to do so! Note: Unfortunately, Stephen Huneck passed away on January 10, 2010. Luckily he left behind wonderful art work and books that will surely be enjoyed by many people for many years to come. Stephen Huneck's work can be purchased HERE or feel free to visit his website - Dog Mountain - it is very interesting! |
"A place where people can go and celebrate the spiritual bond they have with their dogs. It is the largest artwork of my life and my most personal." |
If you are a "dog person" such as myself, then you will enjoy the works of Stephen Huneck. Mr. Huneck's home and studio are located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He is married and has three dogs (Artie, Sally and Molly). In 1994 Mr. Huneck had a terrible accident and fell down a flight of stairs. He was in a coma for two months. After extensive rehabilitation he recovered and was inspired to build a Dog Chapel. The chapel is located on Mount Dog (no pun intended) and is very close to his home. |
