Maude Cat Rescue Story

Aurora and her boyfriend had just moved to Chicago. They had both grown up
with animals so one of the first things on their “To Do” list was to visit the local
animal shelter and pick out a dog. Little did they know…but they would never
make it to the shelter! A short time later a family friend informed Aurora that he
had found an abandoned dog and was going to have the “pound” pick it up. The
dog was a stray and had been wondering the streets for days. It was skinny and
had been bitten by another dog in the neighborhood. Later that evening, curiosity
got the best of Aurora and she went to visit the pup at her friend’s house. It was
love at first sight! The dog, now named Joplin, immediately jumped into Aurora’s
car, curled up into a ball, and went to sleep! It was meant to be. Another member
of Aurora’s family that deserves to be mentioned is Maude the kitty. While out on
a walk with Joplin, Aurora found a skinny, cold cat behind a garbage can. She
was nervous that Joplin would not like the cat, however, her worries were quickly
pushed aside as she watched the two touch noses and get to know each other.
To this day, Joplin and Maude live together…happy, healthy and in their
FOREVER, loving homes! A special THANK YOU to Aurora for sharing her story
and for saving the lives of two stray animals. I think she said it best: “I feel that
animals find us for a reason, we just need to pay attention and give them the
opportunity to enlighten our lives.” PERFECT!!! I couldn’t of said it better.
